Client: High-Net-Worth Individual (HNWI), Business Leader and Public Figure
Date: June 2026
Location: Western Europe; Multiple International Jurisdictions
The client, a prominent business executive with significant commercial, media, and public exposure across Europe approached NSSG following a sophisticated impersonation attempt targeting individuals within his close personal and professional circle.
The incident raised immediate concerns due to the attacker’s apparent knowledge of the client’s movements, travel patterns, social environment, business relationships, and recent activities. While the attack itself did not result in a confirmed compromise, its level of accuracy suggested that the actors involved may have had access to information beyond what would typically be available through casual observation.
NSSG conducted a comprehensive investigation into the origins and modus operandi of the attack, while also seeking to identify broader vulnerabilities that could expose the client to future cyber, reputational, physical, or intelligence-related threats.
Our in-depth mapping of the client’s public exposure, including personal and professional digital footprints, associated businesses, publicly accessible records, media appearances, social media activity, and travel-related indicators across multiple jurisdictions, identified multiple information pathways through which sensitive information regarding the HNWI could be reconstructed. Beyond existing cyber exposures, NSSG identified a range of vulnerabilities that had not yet materialized into incidents but presented potential future risks.
The engagement provided the client with the first consolidated view of his true exposure across cyber, intelligence, reputational, and physical security domains. The assessment demonstrated that a substantial amount of sensitive information concerning the client, his businesses, associates, travel patterns, and operational routines could be identified, correlated, and exploited through advanced investigative and fraud techniques, despite the absence of any single major security breach.
Building on these findings, NSSG is currently supporting the client in the development and implementation of an integrated risk mitigation strategy combining intelligence monitoring, cybersecurity measures, executive and travel security enhancements, exposure-reduction initiatives, targeted audits and testing, and enterprise risk management processes designed to reduce vulnerability across all relevant threat vectors.
