Pete McCollaum is a boots-on-the-ground specialist in problem solving, strategic planning and and providing support in austere and remote locations.  Pete spent 30 years in the US Army Special Forces (Green Berets), entering service as a Special Forces Medic in 1982 and retiring as a Special Forces LtCol in 2012 having served in Thailand, the Philippines, Afghanistan, Iraq, the Balkans, and North Africa. 

His final duty position was as the, advising on Special Operations in Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Africa.  Pete was the US representative for the NATO efforts to search for and arrest the Persons Indicted For War Crimes (PIFWCS) in the Balkans. 

In this effort he coordinated the activities of 7 nations and their assets that were brought to bear in this ultimately successful search for these war criminals.  After retirement, he was the Branch Chief for US Army Africa, coordinating US Army Security Cooperation Activities across North Africa, from Egypt to Mauritania.  He then served as the US Special Advisor to the Italian Center of Excellence for Stability Police Units (CoESPU).

He was also an Advisor to the Senegalese National Police and Gendarme National where he led the Senegalese to be the first country in the world to declare to the United Nations, a Rapid Deployment – Stand-by Police Force for UN operations.

Current commitments:

He is the co-founder of a logistics and security support company in Africa that provides services across the continent. He has lived in Dakar, Senegal since 2018.
