Client: Corporate Client

Date: March - August 2026

Location: Italy

Background

The client is the Italian subsidiary of a leading multinational chemical company with extensive global operations.

Following the corporate announcement of a significant workforce reduction at the Italian production site, the client requested support in assessing, preventing, and mitigating potential internal security and crisis-related risks.

The client’s primary concerns included:

Solutions

Phase 1 – Assessment

NSSG’s initial approach was to conduct a comprehensive Physical Security Assessment focused on both site security and the personal security of site leadership.

A team of two senior consultants was deployed to the site to evaluate the organization’s overall security posture and level of preparedness, identify potential vulnerabilities and security gaps, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.

In addition to the assessment report, NSSG delivered a comprehensive security plan, including emergency response procedures, as well as practical guidelines aimed at enhancing the physical and residential security of key managers.

Phase 2 – Implementation and Monitoring

The second phase of the operation focused on implementing the procedures defined during the initial assessment, validating their effectiveness, and delivering targeted training to relevant personnel, including security staff and site management.

A senior consultant was deployed on site to lead the implementation process, coordinate activities, and support the effective execution of the agreed security measures.

In parallel, an intelligence-monitoring capability was activated to track key developments, including media coverage, trade union statements, and relevant activity across open-source and social media platforms. Daily intelligence reports were provided to the client’s key stakeholders, highlighting changes in sentiment and the overall climate surrounding the situation.

This proactive monitoring enabled both the client and the NSSG team to identify early indicators of potential
escalation and promptly reassess or elevate the applicable risk level when required.

Phase 3 – Operational Support

Moreover, NSSG provided operational security support to the client’s production facility.

A dedicated security team, including a Close Protection Officer (CPO), security agents, and dedicated vehicles, was deployed to the site to maintain real-time situational awareness, provide a rapid security response, support the safe evacuation from the site of the leadership in the event of a sudden escalation, and ensure the security of key managers during their daily commuting activities.

NSSG’s senior consultant was responsible for coordinating the team’s activities, validating the overall security arrangements, and maintaining close coordination with the client’s security function and site management.

Additional security support was provided for management’s external meetings, including secure transportation and coordinated protective measures. These activities were continuously monitored and supported by NSSG’s Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), ensuring timely coordination and ongoing situational oversight.

Overall, the operation demonstrated NSSG’s ability to deliver integrated and coordinated security support by leveraging the combined expertise of its three core practices: Consulting, Intelligence, and Operations.

The teams’ ability to work swiftly, collaboratively, and in a complementary manner enabled the client to make informed and timely decisions, maintain business continuity, and operate effectively while ensuring a high level of situational awareness and overall security.
